My partner and I recently bought our first home in the midst of the aggressive Covid19 market. We were recommended Sam by our mortgage broker at RBC and at first were hesitant as we had never been in the real estate market; we didn’t know who we could trust.
Sam was immediately very open, kind, and easy to get along with. He was very forthcoming and assured us not to be stressed about seeing as many houses as we wanted to before putting in any offers. He helped us navigate houses that we were interested in by providing many insights about his recent market experiences, the physical conditions of the house to take into account, and the locations that they were in.
It took some time for Sam to get a feel for our particular tastes in houses, but ultimately we didn’t even know what our tastes were at first. He was very patient and again reassuring that the whole process takes time and that we weren’t wasting any of his (as that was a big concern of ours). After learning more about us, Sam was right on our page when visiting multiple houses before finding ours. Sam had to go out of town once during our search but made sure we were taken care of by his good friend and colleague Jennifer (who was a delight).
Before I go on and on, I will cut it short. Generally we were very stressed about the whole process of buying a house and Sam made it a less stressful experience. With him, it felt like bringing along a knowledgeable friend who would take the time to just talk about unrelated subjects if we wanted. We ended up in the perfect house for us and Sam was AMAZINGLY helpful in the final stages of bidding and negotiation. With his knowledge of the real estate market, he was able to save us a significant amount of money on the purchase of our home.
